Get Your Smile Back with Custom Full Dentures

Patients without any teeth benefit from customized full dentures in an effort to look their best and chew comfortably. Wearing dentures often makes people self-conscious—after all, our teeth support the structure of our cheeks and our ability to smile confidently!

Dr. Jeff Cummings and his team understand the impact missing teeth can have on their patients’ lives. That’s why we offer custom dentures through our on-site lab in our convenient Waltham location.

Custom Dentures Made in Our On-Site Waltham Lab

Custom dentures require an added level of expertise to maximize appearance and function. Dr Jeff trained privately with the Chairman of Complete Dentures at the Tufts University School of Dental Medicine from 1987-1993. This highly specialized training ensures Dr. Jeff is able to provide his patients with the very best denture care.

Our convenient on-site lab uses cutting-edge technology to ensure custom dentures specifically designed to fit the unique needs of every patient.

This patient has not replaced her dentures in over 15 years. She wanted new dentures for her lip and face support. Patients with dentures older than 5-7 years often lose support and therefore need to replace.

This patient came to me with dentures that were 15 years old and had to do something because the lower kept breaking. These cases are very challenging because learning to wear new dentures is a frustrating experience. We made this patient look better with lighter color and better shaped teeth. We also got the lowers to show a little more and improved the fit and bite. It took this patient about one week to adapt.

    Custom Partial Dentures

Partial custom dentures are appropriate for patients who still have some remaining teeth, but other approaches—such as bridges or dental implants—are not possible or yet recommended.

Removable partial dentures fit around your existing teeth and fill gaps where missing teeth occur. Removable partial dentures provide the appearance and functionality of a complete set of teeth. They can serve as a great temporary solution while implants fully heal or as an interim solution before more in-depth treatment.

    Implant-Supported Custom Dentures

Implant-supported custom dentures are a hybrid of traditional dentures and dental implants. They can be done as full or partial dentures.

Implant-supported dentures are supported by dental implants that are surgically placed into the jawbone to create a secure and stable foundation for teeth. This prevents them from slipping or falling out while speaking or eating.

A long-lasting alternative to traditional dentures, implant-supported custom dentures are a great option for many candidates.

Get Your Custom Full or Partial Dentures in as Few as Three Visits

Most patients need approximately three visits to Dr. Jeff’s office over one to two weeks for a set of custom full or partial dentures from our on-site lab.

Here’s what that can look like:

Visit #1: You and Dr. Jeff will discuss your individual challenges and preferences. Together, you’ll determine the best type of denture for your needs. Dr. Jeff will take the first set of measurements and impressions of your gums and any existing teeth.

Visit #2: Dr. Jeff will have a wax model of your new dentures for you to try on. He’ll assess the fit and your comfort level and note any adjustments that need to be made to achieve the best shape, fit, and coloring for your mouth.

Visit #3: Between Visits #2 and #3, Dr. Jeff will work with the technician in our on-site lab to oversee the creation of your new custom dentures! When they’re complete, you’ll return to the office for a final fitting, as well as a plan for ongoing care and maintenance.

Over time, dentures may need to be adjusted or replaced to ensure that they continue to fit and work properly. With ongoing care and attention, Dr. Jeff and his team of dental professionals can help ensure your dentures provide optimal functionality for the long term!
